The Shimiji Federation is the Simi Valley chapter of Indian Guides, a YMCA program.  "Shimiji" is a Chumash word meaning "wisp" and is believed to refer to the thin clouds that frequent the skies over the valley, and also inspire the name, Simi.  The Indian Guide program focuses on building strong relationships between parents and their children through fun activities.
